What We Do

To combat NTDs particularly in regions surrounding lakes, wetlands, and other high-risk areas where residents are vulnerable to infection, and promote young people's talent.

Our programs

Awareness

Raise Awareness

Running campaigns to teach communities about bilharzia transmission, symptoms, and prevention in high-risk areas across Bugesera, Gatsibo, and Ruhango.

Hygiene

Promote Hygiene

Teaching safe water habits and hygiene practices, including how to avoid contact with contaminated freshwater in marshland communities.

Youth

Educate Youth

Reaching over 11,000 children across 11 schools with health education notebooks, inter-school sports, and storytelling activities.

Talent

Develop Young Talent

Giving young people a platform through drama, poetry, games, and events to become health advocates in their communities.

Education

Notebook Distribution

Distributing illustrated health notebooks across 11 schools in three districts, each carrying bilharzia prevention messages for families.

Training

Teacher/Parent/CHW Training

Training teachers, parents, and community health workers on bilharzia knowledge and prevention.

Sports

Friendly Inter-School Games

Sports competitions between schools with health sessions, organized with MERCK and RBC support to get students involved in NTD prevention.

Community

Entertainment Events

Music, dance, drama, and poetry events that bring whole communities together while showcasing youth talent and spreading NTD prevention messages.

Where We Work

Bugesera District

4 partner schools (Mugina, Nzangwa, Nyiragiseke, Kivusha) reaching 4,264 students with NTD education and health notebooks.

Gatsibo District

4 partner schools (EP Nyagahanga, Manishya, Nyakibande, ES Nyagahanga) reaching 3,141 students with NTD education and health notebooks.

Ruhango District

3 partner schools (Kacyiru, Rutabo B, Kakirenzi) reaching 3,928 students with NTD education and health notebooks.
